Phakic IOLs

Phakic IOLs

Phakic intraocular lenses (IOLs) are lens implants designed to be inserted into the eye while still leaving the natural lens of the eye in place. These lenses are generally used for refractive purposes, mainly for correcting high degrees of myopia, but may also be used for correcting hyperopia, astigmatism, or presbyopia. This course covers the concept behind phakic IOLs, patient selection and preoperative diagnostic testing, calculating phakic IOL powers, and common complications.
